1. Who we are
VinScan (vinscan.ge) is a vehicle-history lookup service. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.
2. Data we collect
Account data (email, name) if you register; a random device identifier stored in your browser so guest lookups and credits work; your lookup history (the VINs you check); and basic usage analytics. Card payments are processed by Flitt — we never see or store your card details.
3. How we use it
To provide the service (show your lookups, track your credit balance), to prevent abuse, and to understand how the product is used so we can improve it. We do not sell personal data.
4. Third-party processors
We share the minimum necessary data with: Flitt (payments), Google (optional sign-in), PostHog (product analytics), and our hosting provider. Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage for your session token and device identifier, and analytics identifiers for usage measurement. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
6. Retention
Account data and lookup history are kept while your account is active. You can delete individual lookups at any time; deleting your account removes the data associated with it.
7. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to info@vinscan.ge. We answer within a reasonable period as required by the applicable law of Georgia.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the current version will always be available on this page with an updated date.
